Aliya Bopezhanova

Bopezhanova Aliya Kakharmankyzy, head of the literary department, Merited figure of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the laureate of the international prize "Alash", Academician of the Academy of Journalism of Kazakhstan.

She was born in the village Saudakent Sarysu district of Zhambyl region. She graduated from the philological faculty of the Kazakh State Women's Pedagogical Institute, graduate of the Kazakh State University named after Al - Farabi. Beginning her career with teaching at the school, she worked in the national, republic media and EMM.

Since 2008, the head of the literary department Academic Drama Theater named after M. Auezov, in this post was in 1993 - 1998.

Since 2003, reads the special courses, as well as the author's program "Today's criticism of art" in the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after T. Zhurgenov, associate professor of the Academy.

Author of the books which debate topical questions of literature, theater, art and spiritual culture such as "Patterns" (1991), "Dunie - imani kubylys" (2001), "Art - personal experience" (2008), "Culture - creative consciousness" (2009 ), which are published in the national publishing houses, as well as author of many TV materials of channel "Khabar". Her articles are published in foreign journals.

Author of the projects of books about the work of many artists: a writer - playwright A. Suleimenov, actors: F. Sharipov, A. Moldabekov, E. Zhaysanbaev, H. Elebekova, T. Tasybekova, directors: E. Obaev, S. Narymbetov; as well as the author of the script of several documentaries.

In the sphere of literary translation has translated prose works, as well as the "Last request" by A. Laurinchyukas (1987), "Munar da munar, munar kun" by R. Solntsev (1989), a tragedy "Attila" by Zamyatin (1996), the musical libretto "Ali Baba" which based on the "Thousand and one Nights" by V. Smekhov (1998), the drama "Three sisters" by Anton Chekhov (2013), and the stage version of "Othello" by William Shakespeare (2014) - the last four plays staged at the Theatre named after M. Auezov.

She translated into Kazakh language philosophical and cultural works (2005) Levi - Strauss, D. Bidney, Ralph, Malinowski in 10 volumes of the series "Cultural Anthropology" state program "Cultural heritage", as well as several documentaries and feature films. She took part in the process of translation dictionaries "Cultural Studies" (2001), the book of the famous US lawyer L. Lessig "Free Culture" (2012).

Member of the Writers' Union of Theatrical Figures of Kazakhstan. Jury member of national and international theater festivals; critic - jury of many literary competitions. She conducted master classes in international and national seminars. A member of the editorial board of several journals.

The laureate of the prize named after  T. Aybergenov republic magazine "Zhalyn" (1990), the national contest of the society "Soros - Kazakhstan" (2000), laureate of the international literary prize of  "Alash" (2003). Academician of the Academy of Journalism of Kazakhstan (2001).

She was awarded the Honorary Diploma of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (1995), the medal "20 years of Independence of Kazakhstan" (2011). Merited figure of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2012).
